Services offered include initial assessments, individual and group therapy, family counseling, anger management and grief counseling. Mental health services are available for patients over the age of 4, and substance abuse treatment is available to adults over 18.

Our Frankford Avenue Health Center has been a pillar in the community for over 20 years, and the healthcare providers and staff reflect the diversity and uniqueness of one of Philadelphia’s most dynamic neighborhoods. Located directly under the El in the heart of Frankford, the center expanded in 2004 to accommodate the growing demand for services, adding 25 extra exam rooms. Frankford is the only GPHA health center that also offers outpatient mental health and substance abuse treatment on-site, through our Frankford Behavioral Healthcare location.

Our Woodland Academy Child Development Center provides day care and youth services for children and families in Philadelphia, specifically in the Southwest section of our city. Serving children between the ages of six weeks and 14 years, our goal is to offer services that are both enriching and stimulating in a safe environment, and provide a safe passage for children to develop into adulthood.
Our after-school "Youth Services Program," located in a newly renovated wing of the center, houses a computer lab, art room, library and a large multi-purpose room. Music, art, and ceramics are some of the enrichment activities children can participate in as part of the after-school program. Woodland Academy is licensed by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Woodland has been a vital resource in the Southwest community since opening its doors in 1986. We have continued to grow consistently - so much that we built a new, three-story home for the center last year. Located at 50th Street and Woodland Avenue, the Woodland Avenue Health Center now sits where a true historic Philadelphia landmark, the Mercy-Douglass Hospital and School of Nursing, once operated.
